For this you take the cover off; open book to middle; cut out shape that you want; dip edges (or whole thing) in diluted paint; wait to dry; put a stick in the binding and hot glue all around until you get what’s in the picture!
You can make any symetrical, cylindrical shape this way, like hearts or spheres, etc.
